For the church to return with Jesus we must be taken up by then which follows the sequence of us not being on Earth during God's wrath.
When the Christ, who is our life, will be revealed (to all), then you also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:4

Jude 1:14-15a
Behold, he comes with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall wail because of him.
Revelation 1:7
To be fair, the last verse says He is coming with the clouds but we don't know for sure if these are clouds of believers or plain ol' clouds. The word in the Greek is for those fluffy white things. It is due to tradition and ancient Jewish writings that indicate these may be believers.
